With a 4000 mAh power bank, hand-crank generator, solar panel, and AAA battery support, this emergency radio helps keep essential information, lighting, and phone power available when normal electricity is unavailable. Its compact format suits emergency kits, camping trips, portable listening, and outdoor use on a patio.
Emergency radio with 4000 mAh power bank
The unit receives FM, AM, and WB NOAA broadcasts, while its telescopic antenna helps improve reception. The WB NOAA band provides weather broadcasts in the United States and the Caribbean, although it is less relevant for use in the UK. A large LCD screen makes station and status readings easy to see.
Four ways to recharge
- Turn the hand crank to generate power.
- Use the built-in solar panel in direct sunlight.
- Recharge through USB; the required adapter and micro-USB cable are not included.
- Install standard AAA batteries, including rechargeable AAA batteries.
For convenient preparation, keep the internal battery charged through USB, such as from a power bank. Solar charging can help maintain the battery, while a full solar charge takes approximately 35 hours.
Hand-crank backup power
When the battery is depleted, one minute of cranking provides approximately 5–10 minutes of torch illumination, 3–5 minutes of radio playback, or 3–5 minutes of phone talk time.
Lighting, phone charging, and audio
- Bright 1-watt LED torch for emergency illumination.
- 4000 mAh power bank capable of fully charging a smartphone, rather than providing only a small top-up.
- AUX input for connecting a phone with a headphone jack and using the radio as a speaker.
- SOS alarm that can also serve as a personal safety alarm.
- Sound quality improved compared with many crank radios.
Measuring 20 × 9 × 8 cm and weighing 490 g, the radio remains compact and lightweight for carrying in an emergency bag or taking outdoors.
