Monitor blood glucose at home with the AccuCare meter kit, which includes 100 test strips for regular testing and supports readings in either mmol/L or mg/dL.
Key Features
- Supplied with 100 blood glucose test strips
- Designed for straightforward home monitoring
- Allows simple conversion between mmol/L and mg/dL readings
To convert a result from mmol/L to mg/dL, multiply the value by 18. To convert from mg/dL to mmol/L, divide the value by 18.
Recommended Testing Times
- For a fasting plasma glucose reading, test after avoiding food for at least 8 to 10 hours; water is permitted during this period.
- For a post-meal reading, test two hours after eating, counting from the first bite.
Reference Blood Glucose Ranges
- Fasting blood glucose: 3.9–6.1 mmol/L, equivalent to 70–110 mg/dL
- Two-hour postprandial blood glucose: 3.9–7.8 mmol/L, equivalent to 70–140 mg/dL
Using the Meter
For proper sample application, bring the blood to the edge of the test strip so it can be drawn in effectively. Apply the sample to the side of the strip beside the small port positioned near the upper-left area. Hold the meter at approximately a 45-degree angle toward the suction port while testing.
Before collecting a sample, allow any alcohol on the skin to dry completely because remaining alcohol may influence the reading. Do not use the first blood drop, as it can contain tissue fluid; use the following drop instead.
